Chains of Silence

Silence

By Rob🦜Published about a year ago • 1 min read

I spoke no word when truth was mine,

Let silence bind me, thread by line.

Her eyes, so soft, believed the lie,

And in that moment, I let love die.

The altar stood, a gilded snare,

Her trembling smile, a whispered prayer.

I wore the ring, a mask, a chain,

Bound by her joy, enslaved by pain

Each whispered vow, a dagger’s sting,

A chorus sung on hollow strings.

Yet still I smiled, a man betrayed,

Not by her love, but the choice I made.

Now in this cage, I pace, I weep,

Dreams drowned beneath the lies I keep.

The chains grow tighter, day by day,

And silence steals my soul away
