Chains come apart
A Nonet on Learning to Let Go
Prologue
Difficult family relationships. Complicated collegial relationships. Love relationships that are hard to fathom. All can leave us at a loss and feeling responsible or frustrated. Our parts in them may be hard to pinpoint.
Complex circumstances can conjure feelings of guilt, fear and overwhelm. These are hard to address.
But the chains come apart when we come to terms with how difficult we, ourselves, may have made them.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, and undo those chains with love. Enjoy this nonet.
Chains of guilt that bind, will come apart
Darkness kneels before bright white light
Bent knees to Earth, hearts unfold
Low whispers of grace said
Open palms outstretched
Love renewed
Redeemed
Free.
Bent knees to

I love that the nonet form is perfect for the subject. Wonderfully expressed
This is lovely. Well done.
Comes right at you!
I relate strongly to this Michelle: profound and reverent nonet.
A powerful nonet!
Yes, the chains that bind. Free ourselves.
Chains constrain our life in many directions tearing us apart if we don't cut some of them. Fine piece you've created here!
That was so powerful and felt so liberating! Loved your poem!
