In the dawn of a new job’s bright start,
I stepped in eager, with hope in my heart.
A fresh place to learn, to grow, to thrive,
Yet shadows soon crept, and the days took a dive.
A customer, wild, with a fierce, untamed stare,
Her mind unbound, caught in her own snare.
She lunged with her hands, tried to hit and bite,
Her gumless mouth a blur in the chaotic fight.
I stayed calm, tried to soothe and to care,
But her storm only grew, spiraling everywhere.
A moment of fear, a test I couldn’t win,
A challenge so fierce, pushing me to the brim.
And then the news came, I was let go,
Fired from the job I’d barely just known.
Though hurt and confused, I learned one thing true,
Sometimes the world’s trials are harsh, but we grow through.
So here’s to the courage in facing the storm,
To standing tall, even when worn and worn.
A new beginning awaits, I’ll rise and move on,
For every setback’s a step toward what’s to come.
