Capacity, Flooded
I knew that it was merely a matter of time... -before these walls came crashing down again.

The vase had broken, long, long ago‐
This representation of me as a vessel, has been shattered,
Scattered across the sea that poured out‐
These walls, and this mask both
Have for long been far, far beyond their capacity‐
Their contents now exposed,
What will the public choose to see?...
Amongst a plethora of masks and "versions of self"
Behind one face, is a collection of others
Now a library on public display‐
Every mask I kept behind what I wore at the front,
Every member that's a part of what is formed as me,
All which this vase once kept contained,
Has been released against its will, because‐
These walls, and this mask both
As well as the shelf they were stored on,
Have held up, and have held on...
For long, but
All has fallen now‐
I suppose it was simply a matter time,
Before this mask flooded once more
And these walls came crashing down again‐
Every word,
Every song,
Lyrics, stories, and all
For all to see‐
What in this sea will attract their eyes?
With all that was within,
And what rain managed to creep in
A lot has poured over, and out of these walls‐
These walls, and this mask both
Certainly have had double their fill,
And though they have fallen, still,
High waters surround me,
Mixed with blue and black ink
This flood has far, far exceeded my capacity‐

About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
