Candle

Candle, oh candle, so bright and so true

You teach us lessons in all that you do

You show us that light can come from within

Even in darkness, hope can begin

You remind us to be patient and still

As you burn slowly, with a gentle thrill

And when your wax begins to melt away

We learn that all things must come to an end someday

But even then, you leave a lasting impression

Of warmth and light, and a beautiful expression

So candle, dear candle, we thank you for the lessons you've taught

For reminding us to shine, even when it's difficult or fraught.
