Can't stop with the giddy

When it hits, it hits hard.

Troubles are few

and far between,

but this one came

and hit, unseen.

Despising the feeling,

unchartered and unwrinkled,

lingering and confusing,

all but unbridled.

To celebrate might unravel

glorified illusions,

but ignorance frazzles.

Decisions, decisions.

A moment’s glance,

breaks the stone doors,

throws you into a trance.

Submission implores!

Denial is in full effect

for what is brewing in the pot.

What it now is, I cannot object:

A complete and utter onslaught.

The more you look

the more I am aware,

all my senses are hooked.

You’re my cross to bear.

The mirrors chase your reflection,

every angle, they dare not miss.

when your gaze turns in my direction,

all reason ceases to exist.

Fuel is seeping through the keep.

A spark! Now it is burning.

I resist but struggle deep,

a prisoner no longer in hiding.

About the Creator

Paula Maddox

Don't read the next line. You're a rebel, I see. I like you already! I go by the pen names Millery Rhodes and Tinkerebellion. I would love to share more of my writing here after taking a long break from it.
