Can’t Leave Myself Behind

Flip Old Renditions Off

By Joseph SeveroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

“Can’t leave myself behind

- Won’t peel out like orange rind;

Cannot stand back - legs hind,

canine combat: Birch bark

Huh - ginger tart - oh singer smart;

Five fingers part; Body bags:

Hope I will not depart;

Immortal- department head of art

- The fins of sharks -

Fluorescent lightbulb sparks -

Zap needles with some pins

- Perhaps I’m here to grin;

Borderline, behind, beyond;

Remind me that I find fond,

the sings I choose to song

which bring out rights and wrongs;

Chopped salad - nab the tongs:

Pick apart what you don’t want

- It’s character I sought,

formed from feelings, actions, thoughts

- Less fragile - dust off moths

- No slow scroll of sloths;

Finer fabrics, cloths;

Flip old renditions off.”
