Can anyone can see me?

or am I just a figment

of imagination?

Are my battles, fought

lost into silence?

Are my wars, won

faded to oblivion?

Are rivers of blood

of skin I shed

to try to erase the scars,

but historic memories?

Is my voice nothing but,

a whisper in the ear?

One that bounces, echoes

and then, disappears?

Is my soul just

something of the wind?

Is my heart but dust

upon the ground?

Can I bear my being

without and audience?

Can I be a ruler

witout a nation?

What if I win fight battles

and then applaud with my wounds?

What if I win wars

and celebrate with my scars?

What if I lick my gashes

and watch them heal

and then sew them

with rivers of blood?

What if I learn to whisper

to myself

and absorb the comfort

of the completeness?

What if I soul learns

to fly on its own?

What if my heart learns

to dance to its beat?

What if I find a comfort

within myself

and allow it

overcome every insecurity?

For, then I will no longer

require and audience,

and learn to rule
