As the tempest raged outside
The air was warm
Condensation formed
On windows and bodies alike
dripping down the fogged up
glass panes in racing slides
The divine exhalation
Blown across the land
Through our little slapdash
Stand on the cliff’s side
Where we languished in the sheets
You stirred and practically purred
In my ear making me twitch
And kick till I flopped onto your
Belly and we were
Covered in sweat again
Saturated in the sweet
Jasmine-scented night air
Until we decided to go for a
Swim since the sun likes to
Siphon off my life and fun
So we laze about in the blazing
Daytime hours taking our chance
To roll about in her enchanted
Tossing showers
Our favorite lady’s pleasant waters
As she painted our bodies
Blue, and pink, and shimmering gold
The colors of love
And tropical flowers
With the sailor’s sunrise as we
Drowned in each other’s eyes
Washing ashore, tangled in
The arms of sleepy desire
Ready to relapse into slumber again
Dreaming of sailing into
Your home port once more
K.B. Silver
I don't do well in the sun or the heat, so my husband and I didn't go on the typical tropical vacation; we went to Gold Beach, Oregon. My muse has a pet named Calypso, and through the eyes of the sunrise, the experience was re-imagined. Here is another poem I wrote, this one with pictures from my honeymoon
