CALIFORNIA SUN
By - Adrian Piedra Martinez

The water we feel, its alive
Even at night, you can hear its cry
Below as well as above
In the pouring rain, you can see its eye
I wonder what’s inside
Your heart, where rain falls the most
To you now, I am nothing but a ghost
Watching the rain, never felt worse
Being without you doesn’t feel free
While you’re where you want to be staring at the California sun
But it’s not with me
I can’t help to feel this way
My flowers are all dead and my skies are grey
I know, how typical of me to feel betrayed
If you still think about me know it’s because
I prayed,
Prayed,
And prayed
I know I just retreated
I knew you were going through it and I wasn’t what you needed
I once stood where you stood
I know it can leave you defeated
I never wanted someone so bad
Why am I being forced to move on
I can’t help but to get lost
In your eyes
In your thousands of thoughts
In your thighs, sweet and soft like the sky
But you rarely think of me, I’ll have to let it be
But just know if you give me a call and ask me to fly
I will
