she flipped my card to yellow instead of blue. on a scale of best to worst, the colors were green, yellow, blue, orange, and red. my teacher had initially threatened me with the blue card flip, but her oh-so-kind generosity only left me with yellow. I didn’t know how to explain this to my dad. I had been on a green streak all month. he'd definitely flip out over this and she added a note trying to egg it. my dad would never take my side. it was always a teacher's word over mine. goodbye to all of my privileges this weekend.

5. 10 minutes left of me pretending like the reading is so interesting. and I don’t gotta worry about that summary. I got Gerald to do it for me the teacher was even keeping an eye on us, so cheating in our class was the easiest thing in the world. We turned in our work and started packing up for recess. been waiting for this ever since I was stepped on the bus this morning. Ronnie is one of my good friends from school. me and him get the soccer ball off the cart and go start up a game. Thank you lord.

Seconds ago, the sullen sun set on the two of us… my exuberant furry companion and me. A fresh breeze embraces us, delivering welcome relief from the day’s oppressive heat. His typical stumbling and staggering along — apace with a sloth — has turned into trip-trapping, high-stepping, almost skipping along.
