Bystander

to those lost by gun violence

By Anonymous Writer 378Published 5 months ago 1 min read

There's a man over there lying in the dirt

is he dead?

is he alive?

he has a nice name brand shirt

There is a man over there lying in the dirt

oh my god take out your phone

record I think he's hurt

There is a man over there lying in the dirt

he had a story now its over

first a carriage now a hearse

There was a man over there lying in the dirt

and in the midst of his life ending

all we did was stand by and let him suffer

There was a man over there lying in the dirt

is what we'll tell friends and family

could this get any the worst?

There was a man over there lying in the dirt

may his soul rest in peace

we should've talked later and helped him first
