Butterfly Kisses
Wonderland Challenge day 26 "Imagination"
Butterfly kisses in
My kaleidoscope dreams
Lashes of twisty licorice
Irises pooling opposite
In decadent neon
Blueberry and chocolate donut rings
Fluttering In expectation
Of lively giggle fights
And forehead jousting
A cloud of delight
Suddenly rocketing skywards like
Tiny golden bubbles
Escaping from popped cider
We effervesce
Floating and bursting
From the bottom of the drink
Tumbling and bumping into
Cranberries plump
And splashed pink
As the glass rotates
Our spicy suspension
Starts to cyclone
Fizzing over
Mixing into the fragrant earth
Like soda bread dough
Sitting muddied and laughing
With you feels like home
The one I always longed for
Yet have never ever known

I'm sure loving your Wonderland entries, K.B. <3 They are wonderful <3
I love the whole section that starts with "we effervese" that is just gorgeous - this idea of floating, the idea of love sparkling, tingling on the tongue, and so delicate it could pop at any moment.
This is such a tender piece. It brought me right back to old memories. My mother used to give us butterfly kisses when I was a little kid, too, and reading this felt like opening a forgotten memory box.
Wow, this flutter like those butterfly kisses! Now I’m craving blueberry donuts—talk about poetic cravings! lol
This description is so vivid! It makes me picture a really unique and fun scene. The imagery of the butterfly kisses and all those food and drink references is cool. It makes me wonder what inspired you to write this. What was the moment or feeling you were trying to capture? Also, how did you come up with such creative combinations like blueberry and chocolate donut rings?
