Butterflies flutter

Wings so delicate yet strong

So faint and yet so loud.

Butterflies flutter

Close to my heart

As it pounds harder

And my veins

Feel like a million little vibrations.

Butterflies flutter

Swarming my brain,

Clouding my judgment,

One thought on my mind.

Butterflies flutter

Towards you and your eyes.

You watch as they flutter away

And lead your eyes to mine.

As they do, I wonder and hope

That butterflies flutter

Close to your heart

And swarm your brain

The way they did to me.

The butterflies flutter

Even stronger than before.

The vibrations become earthquakes,

And the swarm becomes a flood,

When your face loosens

Into a genuine smile.
