Butterflies and Coffee Cups

How a crush can turn caffeine into magic

By KhunchaiZX99Published 9 months ago 1 min read

I order coffee every morning,

but today, I swear it tasted sweeter—

maybe because you smiled

when you handed me the cup.

You wrote my name in swirly letters,

drew a tiny heart next to it—

I pretended not to notice,

but my cheeks turned the color of strawberry jam.

You asked, “Cream and sugar?”

I almost said, “Just your smile, please.”

But instead, I nodded,

hoping you didn’t hear my heart

stirring faster than the spoon.

Funny how a simple coffee run

turns into a secret recipe—

one part caffeine,

two parts butterflies,

and a dash of wishful thinking.
