Burden Boulevard

The burdens of life.

By Mzingaye NdubiwaPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Love broke up with Happiness

Darkness stepped in

Then Light turned to emptiness.

Hope had an appointment with Future

But met Disappointment on the way

And made a U-turn.

Truth became friends with Trust

Before Lust crept in

And it turned to dust.

Faith met Lost on the highway

And told him “Get into the back, we’re going my way.”

But Hate pushed them off the road

Faith passed away

Now Lost is all alone.

Patience waits by the phone

For Good News to call

While Young grows old

And Warm turns cold.

Happy tries to calm Sad down

But Sad’s heart is already six feet underground.

Time doesn’t wait

So Night falls hard

Welcome to burden boulevard.
