Let go

Momma, your worn hands are tied,

A pawn to your past's spell you've let run your life,

Because you have yet to break yourself free,

It's hurting you and it's staining me,

Let Daddy rest in his cycling slumber,

He'll wake when the evening clock hits its sixth number,

He's dealing with sadness, put away your smother,

A family of three yet we don't talk to each other,

When will the guns drop,

Hit the safeties to make ailments stop,

In a world ever-changing you only have each other,

Though old love is lost, join hands and find cover,

Momma, he can't hurt you again,

I know it still haunts you since fear is your loyal friend,

Embraced in Earth's arms, he has no way to reach us,

I've built you a safe palace filled with my undying trust,

Daddy you can let the sun wake you,

You're ill in the mind with the loneliness flu,

Conversation is this beautiful lost art,

I know you've known it from the start,

You can bury your anger, that tone you've sung forever,

I promise we'll get through this heartbreak together,

Momma your heart is so pure,

Daddy you've got this infectious laughter,

It's been a constant battle,

Can we just live "happily ever after?"

We built these cement walls,

We're all cold and hungry,

We can't blow them down,

Let's decorate with new stories,

When will the guns drop,

Hit the safeties and make the ailments stop,

In a world ever-changing, we only have one another,

Thought old love is lost we all need each other.
