Broken Unspoken

Things not said aloud

By Katharine Poole Published 6 months ago 1 min read

You

I cannot speak of

Your name

The whisper of a scream

I awake from

Dreams

Lost in the tidiness of what once was

Love

Taken

Given only with rules and...

Silences

A hushed finger on my lips that only your hand could hold

Steady now

In the ghosted loss of unrequited

Entangled webs of dande - lie - ons

Their snowflakes captured in the winds of your

Cold

Cold

Frigid

Summer heart

Blue is my gold of August lost

The silent songs of children whispering the true fairytales

A prince evermore

A prince Nevermore

She waits for you in the truth of the lie of the lie of the truth of your bed

The one you have and will share for

Evermore

I wait in the silence of the words of the question the question of the words

The ones you will never speak

They are not mine to know

To have

To hold

As you grow old

And I wither

Voiceless

Broken

Unspoken
