Broken Trust

A Cry for Justice in the Face of Injustice

Broken trust, a bond in vain,

A system meant to protect, now causing pain.

Brutality and violence, an endless refrain,

A target on their back, because of the color of their stain.

A badge and a gun, a symbol of power,

But for black communities, it brings only terror.

Justice denied, rights stripped away,

A brutal force, that takes lives every day.

The protests march, and the voices rise,

For a world where justice finally flies.

Where every life is equal in size,

And the brutality is met with truth and disguise.

The wounds run deep, and the pain remains,

For the families who have lost, and the love that sustains.

But the hope still shines, through the darkest rains,

And the fight for justice, it never wanes.

So let us stand, hand in hand,

For a future where trust is in demand.

Where every soul is equal in land,

And where police brutality on black people, comes to an end
