Broken Strings

Day 19/365

By Ellie HoovsPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

like burned bridges

I did not unknot

the ties that bind

I snipped them

with scissors

and let the ends fray

like tattered ribbon.

Now you cannot play

the same tired

sad

songs

because your guitar

has broken strings

cut apart

by me.
