Lessons

Broken Blooms

Unfolded like a flower in your garden

Intoxicated by the power of your touch

Unaware that your heart had grown hardened

I displayed my pedals secrets in your church

Prostrate as a sinner at your altar

My sin and my desires I confessed

Revealing my intentions in full color

My past and future vulnerably undressed

In the name of love, you trampled every inch of

The fragrant, tender buds growing inside

Ripping all of them from root to stem taught

Me the lessons that would change my life

I watched as you broke any strength I offered

Until the beauty dissolved in your eyes

Still unaware of all that I had suffered

It was then that I created my disguise

My garden bare and vibrant flowers withered

Another lover begging to be saved

Too broken and afraid to love another

My flowers left to decorate the grave

Nicely done, Kelli. I really liked these two lines for some reason: "Revealing my intentions in full color My past and future vulnerably undressed"

This is a kind of remembrance poem of a person that you were close maybe. Good job.
