Oh, the many shades of sea glass
Oh, the many shapes too
Derived by its own journey in the sea
Tiny pieces of broken glass
From the long-lost bottles ago
Floating in the water, they do
Rounded edges from once were sharp
In the ever-ebbing flow of the sea
Was on shore for a very short time
Then the sea takes them away
Floats for a while in the tide
Oh, the many greens from light to dark
The rare majestic purples
The blues from the sky to the deep sea
And oh, the colors in between
The browns show a time or too
Even the clear ones like an appearance
Yellows and oranges are not that common
Finding red is finding a gem
Just walk across the beach
The rounder the longer in the sea
Each a little treasure to find
Little gems in the tide
And see the colors you can find
They glitter in the sunlight
Be fast to pick them up
Before they wash away
Oh, what an excellent day
Of broken beauty in many ways
Find uniqueness in all
Seeing the particles that shine
Oh, how a nice day to see
To look and see the many colors and shapes
Before the tides sweep them up again
Each and every day
Each has its own character
To see it in the world
So simple a thing
But yet so beautiful
Reflecting light in a jar
Or floating in the water
