For a moment
In time the thing
That broke us
Brought us together.
Party lines did
Not matter
As we watched
In horror
As 110 story
Buildings came crashing
Down
Wiping out
Innocent lives
It did something else too
It showed us hope.

We all became one
For a time
No matter
The place we called
Home.
For a moment in
Time we united
In prayer
As we watched
Father Mychael Judge
Carried out from the rubble
A life begun
And ended with prayer.
They tried to wipe
Humanity out that day
In an act of hate
But when you
Throw hate
We retaliate
With love.
A nation so often
Divided
Banded together
For a moment
In time
As we wore
The weight of
Grief on our
Shoulders
And in that
Moment we became
Family.
