Breath Held
We stood closer than the world allowed,
and yet it felt as if the universe had shrunk
so that only we existed.
I could feel your heartbeat against mine,
a rhythm older than words,
and my own breath caught
between anticipation and fear.
There was nothing to say—
and in that nothing,
everything was spoken.
