A Poem on Overcoming Drug Abuse

Drug abuse, a darkness, that creeps in slow,

A poison, that takes control, to and fro,

It steals, the light, from the eyes, so bright,

And leaves, a trail, of destruction, in its sight.

It starts, with a choice, a decision so wrong,

A path, that leads, to a life, so strong,

It takes hold, with a grip, so tight,

And leads, to a place, of endless night.

It's a journey, of pain, and regret,

Of broken dreams, and a life, so upset,

It's a cycle, of highs, and lows,

And a path, that only, leads to more woes.

But hope, is not lost, in this dark abyss,

For there's a way, to break free, from this,

To find, the strength, to reach for the light,

And to reclaim, the life, that was once so bright.

So reach out, for help, and don't be afraid,

For there are those, who truly care, and will aid,

In your journey, to a life, free from the pain,

And to find, the hope, that remains.
