Breaking Down the Walls

A Promise to Heal the Heart You Guard

I see the walls you’ve built so high,

Brick by brick, they touch the sky.

You’ve locked your heart behind a gate,

Afraid of love, afraid of fate.

But I’m not one to turn away,

I'll stand and fight, come what may.

For every stone you’ve placed with care,

I’ll find a way to meet you there.

I’m trying, yes, to break right through,

To show you love that's pure and true.

Each crack I make, a promise kept,

I’ll heal the wounds where pain has crept.

Your walls may rise, but so will I,

For I can see the soul inside.

I’ll chip away until they fall,

And then, my love, I’ll have it all.

So trust in me, and you will see,

These walls you’ve built won’t always be.

For love is stronger than your fear,

And I’ll be waiting, always near.
