Break

Almost Loving Someone, Almost Not

By Brittany 🩷Published 4 months ago • 1 min read

The ice warmed slightly, then snapped in half like crisp almond bark

A familiar reminder of life's fragility.

However,

Her smile fading over the days that we've spent together, serves as an even sharper knife.

The way I watched it was to comprehend for her through the colors of the iris in her eyes

The way I watched her shrug it off

The way I watched my life become less poetic

Sucked dry of any creativity

Let alone emotion

Let alone love.

I watched her for a moment

Consider herself in love with me,

Consider the repercussions,

Consider me stuck.

I don't know where to go from here

But I know I'll go,

I know I'll get there.

Please come with me.
