Bravery is staying the things that make you all you-
Even when others try to say it's not true.
It's knowing who you are deep down inside,
And celebrating your you-ness instead of running to hide.
It's choosing to love and saying no to the hate.
Passing the love torch until violence dissipates.
It's standing up for your rights, beliefs, and your views.
It's being confident in the life decisions you choose.
It's running into a battle or a building on fire,
To save lives within them in situations so dire.
Being brave is a leap into a new job or new city-
It's retaining your faith when situations aren't pretty.
Bravery is wearing your heart out on your sleeve.
It's letting things go in order to breathe.
It's loving your loved ones, opinions aside-
It's loving your insides immensely with pride.
It's being afraid and then conquering your fears.
It's protecting a victim being bullied by peers.
Falling onto the ground, but getting back on that horse.
It's coping with grief as you continue life's course.
It's seeking out sources when you have a need.
Asking for help is different than greed.
It's overcoming obstacles or demons you face.
It's saying "no thank you," with a great sense of grace.
Having courage is much more than a knight on a quest-
It's being in a crowd and standing out from the rest.
