Brain Overload
My mind filled up,
Room by room,
Until even silence
Started to scream.
Thoughts crashed hard,
Like waves in winter,
Fierce and unsteady,
Dark as a closing door.
I tried to breathe,
But shadows pushed in,
Crowding every corner,
Leaving little space for hope.
Memories flashed bright,
Then shattered like glass,
Falling to the floor,
Too sharp to touch.
Voices I knew,
Turned harsh and strange,
As if someone rewired them,
Changing their tone.
I felt myself drifting,
Far from the world I saw,
As if the mind I lived in
Was slipping out of shape.
I reached for light,
Any small spark,
Something to prove
I was still here.
And in the spinning noise,
I whispered my name,
Holding it close,
Like a key to the door.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

We all see ourselves in this poem someway. Good job.
Your poem is so descriptive, I feel like I'm 'in' the poem, thankyou for sharing xx
