Three men from Yaryn

Born forth on wings

Of black dragons

Three men sail forth with hope

Of gold and crowns

Made of legends

Three men sail forth

Sword drawn

And armored boldly

For krakens bellowed below

A green dragon lay

Coiled deep in its cave

A lass in no distress

We would not know

We would not know

A viper slithered

Amongst the stores

Friend or foe

We would not know

We would not know

Three men sailed forth

To find a soul

To find their soul

Three men sailed forth

So full of strength

So full of hope

But the Kraken

pulled them below

pulled them below

Okay, so we have a winner. This was great. Love how it fits in with the writing you often seem most comfortable in. Loved the flow and the descriptions - could picture it so vividly. Thank you and will be using this for the book, dude!

A tale of adventure and fate, where bold hopes clash with unseen dangers, and even strength can't escape the Kraken's grip.

Three men sailed forth To find a soul To find their soul Wow! This bit stood out to me, but the whole thing is awesome, Matthew! I'm a big fan of sea shanties, and this just gets better the more I read it. Bravo!

That's a proper shanty that is! Got the rhythm and everything 😁

Now you just need the lute and deep drums to accompany this vivid tale.

Such a tale of woe! You captured it wonderfully! Great job!

Definitely has the sea shanty feel. Love the storytelling you managed to do with it!

What a vivid picture this conjures up! Well done, Matthew! I agree with Cathy. This one should be set to music.

I want to take a moment to appreciate how well the featured image sets the scene, to the point you feel like you're clinging to the side of the ship listening to this song sung from the crew above. Also, you ever read Dewey Lambdin? I feel like you'd enjoy a good British naval adventure based on this and other sailing stories you've written, and Reefs and Shoals is one of my favorite books. It's survived multiple shelf purges.

Wow, loved this! It is melodic and mystical. I am always for the creatures and against the killer men. Seattle named a hockey team the Kraken and it drives me nuts!! Remember "Release the Kraken" from that movie?

I love your poem. Its rhythm sounds like sailors’ singing. Well done.
