Born Sinner

Matthew

By MadlebePublished about an hour ago 1 min read

Matthew says:

If your right eye causes you to stumble

Gouge it out

Better to lose that member than

Have your whole body thrown into hell.

Well

I’m tethering

between simulation and damnation

Pondering What’s worse?

Decades of darkness

Or

Flames for eternity

Depending on the night

My sight

either heals or burdens me

The end is near

So I must decide urgently

If I go blind

Maybe

God will give me vision

As a courtesy

Oh! The shame

betrayed by my own anatomy

If your right-hand

causes you to stumble

cut it off and throw it away

These fingers linger on

Adultery more than poetry,

Swipe more than write

It’s hard to recite

when all you do is type.

My Lord!

Give me strength

To chop my foot

For leaving my path,

Rushing towards wrath,

Chasing the bag,

Being a drag all while

dancing around the truth

Allow me to justify being mute?

You see

We speak in forms of life or death

Yet Lately my dialogue, banter and punchlines

have killed every relationship

and burnt every bridge

I noticed

Ashes and Carnage

Do not make a pretty picture

It’s not sexy enough

To put on my Hinge

Or Tinder profile

But,

They’re still something to behold.

I think.

I might be a masochist

Always bruising my ego

throwing myself

into tough circumstances

and biting my tongue

until it’s mush

In order

To get through the gates

I guess

I’ll just limp around

and

hush.
