Boredom

Unending and all-encompassing darkness... not frightening

Peaceful. expansive... freeing

Running with glee; arms against the wind

New experiences and sensations.

Serious trepidations.

Memories of the dark when I was young in bed scared. my mum comforted me when I had a fever.

Dreams of fighting dinosaurs I called monsters. Family roped around a giant satellite dish.

probably from some movie. Resident evil?

Reminiscing about cousins on the PS2. Excitement to see the game turned to water works down the wrong drain. Of course I didn’t pee myself.

They told me about a demon island in the Bermuda triangle.

kids are gullible aren’t they? Is it their fault;

Don’t parents leave footprints and half eaten cookies? Rather than gullible I'd say criminally underappreciated purity.

Will this generation have it? I’m sure each one thought the same about the next.

The future, is it here?

Flying cars and light-based healing?

A friend mentioned it... time travellers from declassified US docs

Laser therapy...

Real, or a guess...?

I am cynical... or a realist?

Optimistically pessimist?

Boredom? Probably not

Brain is always churning...

Author's note: no idea how stream of consciousness is supposed to be, so I wrote out my thoughts as they came, and then summarised them afterwards.

This is the thing-is it really boredom or are we just freeing the brain to process thoughts. Loved it

  • People view me as a pessimist but I feel I'm a realist. Loved your poem!
