Books are dead

Don’t believe it? Read on

Books are dead my friend

Believe it

It’s true

Books are made of dead trees

And other vegetable stuff

Some are made of baby cows too

Which can be rough

On the cows and

Not to mention their pups

How can you say this is not true or

Do you only read books made with berry juice

Pressed onto sustainable responsibly sourced cabbage leaves

You may believe in something you can touch and can feel

I know you want to read a book that’s real

But you will grow old

Perhaps

And die

The next generation will always try

To do things a different way

So say what you may

Books have had their day

Soon we will all read Kindle

Our interest in pulp fiction dwindled

To nothing

Reduced to dust

Sawdust it seems

Perhaps something better will soon come

The next big thing

It could be Vocal but

They are far too busy

Battling invisible demons

To look to the future

So be prepared

For the day that reading books becomes rare

Dare you imagine that day?

O ~ o ~

Hardly see anyone reading a book these days. A sign of the times?

Can you imagine stone tablets , scroll , books and kindle chips. It will be very interesting what they come up with next .

  • I still enjoy holding a book physically in my hands. But I also appreciate being able to carry an entire library in the palm of my hand.

I hope books don't die. I think we will eventually see a swing back to real books in education at least, and away from edtech. Kids do better reading real books.

  • Whoaaaa, hang on! There are books made from cows??? 😳😳

I hope books will always be. At least with real books you do not have to wait while your Nook, Kindle or computer charges to keep reading you just open it up and read. Good job.

  • Such a clever poem… well argued. The last photo is so sad!🥺

Even if people read them on tablets and phones now more than in print, books are still one of the best and most important inventions of humanity. I like reading paper books especially in travel when you don't always have access to chargers. Also happy that my Gen-Z son reads paper books all the time.

  • Great take on the nature of books and I don't have a preference but am fine with all formats.

Very frustrating that I did not yet open my bookstore. The nostalgia of holding a book is irreplaceable,,, though honestly, i have neglected my books lately. It is reading competition at the library here. So read i shall. But yo speak truth.

It’s very rare to see a book out of my own environment. You only see phones, people with their eyes glued to the screen.
