Body Asking for Ayuda

An English-Spanish poem of health awareness

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Our cuerpo,

our greatest tesoro.

Yet in ignorancia,

we throw it into vicious llamas,

an infierno raging,

making it caliente, ácido,

our cuerpo desperately

crying for ayuda.

We ignore —

the diablo has hijacked

our mente.

We blame the sol

for enfermedad,

while poisoning our comida

and layering our piel

with química.

Let’s act sabio.

Our cuerpo is precioso,

irreemplazable.

Treat it bueno.

Translations:

Our body is our greatest treasure, yet in ignorance, we throw it into vicious flames, a raging inferno that makes it hot and acidic, desperately crying for help. We ignore it as the devil hijacks our mind. We blame the sun for illness while poisoning our food and covering our skin with chemicals. Let’s be wise — our body is precious and irreplaceable. Treat it well.
