Little blurbs surround my head,
Words and thoughts stabbing
My temples, struggling to find a way
Inside my brain.
Inundated by what you just
Uttered to me,
My eyes sit in a glaze -
Astigmatism mocks my vision,
Forcing me to blink away the tears;
Not allowing the emotion to settle
Because it lacks clarity;
I struggle to see straight.
Like a battle being waged
Against my beliefs -
You challenged everything I knew,
I lay here, uncertain
And unsure of what we shared
Or who you are;
So I close my eyes and fall
Asleep, hoping I don't awake
Blinded.
