Bluebird

if this was all in our dreams

By Sophie KinstonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Shades pull down, there’s soil on the ground. The rain makes you shiver, as the roof falls apart.

It’s black light not blue, I’d sleep if I could, but you wake up, you wake up, and you stare at the moon.

Close your eyes, watch the rainbow, watch the wind it blows; you’re the blue bird, you’re the new bird, just caught up in the sky.

Close your eyes, watch the stars burn, in the morning light; it’ll soon be dusk, it’s like paint the mud, I still think of you now.

The streets, the sound, cracked open as the dogs they howl. The lamps they bent over, as this world turns my mind.

The trees still are golden, we were dancing in the sand. This time was just a moment, til the smoke got in my eye.

Days go on, the rain it will fall. In time I see clearer, I’m still wrapped up in the night.

Your voice still a dreamer, still fits me like a winter glove; and we burst into a million colours, as the glass rolled to the ground.

Notes : All words are by Tailor Birds, musician, songwriter, and story teller......this piece is from the upcoming 'Salt' record that is due for release in 2021/2022. Our stories are fueled by tales of love, loss, hopes, and dreams, and this one imagines our moments of freedom and the possibilities for the unknown and the inevitable to come together....but we realise too late that our worlds are just a dream.
