Blue Topaz

Chocolate and the falling snow

By Aaron SchwartzPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Did my friends serve bourbon-soaked ham

At their Valentines party

Or was I the bourbon-soaked ham?

I connived to sit next to her.

Laughter and chocolates then

Out into the falling crystal snow.

For the first time

I fell into her blue topaz eyes.

For the first time

Endless love.

Such a sweet, clever mix of humor and heart! The "bourbon-soaked ham" line had me chuckling, and then bam—those blue topaz eyes hit hard. Love how it went from fun to deep in just a few lines. Nice work!
