blue (the masking poem)

based on some old feelings | I Didn't Say That Out Loud

Keith Urban - Blue Ain't Your Color

keith urban sang that blue wasn't my color

but he doesn't know how well i wear it

twisting through my veins

and going out into the world

as clothing and hair just so

a smile that illuminates

and makes the stars jealous

(for i look as beautiful in blue

as i do in yellow)

eyes made up of thunderstorms

because even blue has power

a storm

drowning me

underneath the surface

of the calmest oceans
