my bedroom door has superpowers

blocking reality from rushing in

overwhelming me

behind there

i am alice

falling into rabbit hole fantasies

until alas

i am awaken from peaceful slumber

and am forced to step out the door

back into reality

Love this- was the prompt simply the word "door"? Great way of twisting what a door does, and this line in particular was nice- "falling into rabbit hole fantasies". I don't know if it was deliberate or not, but I also liked how the first five sentences all decrease in length, like someone falling down...

Wonderful! I love the sense of escapism where behind the door is a safe place to dream!

This reminds me of that special place we all have that we go to just to escape from reality if only for a moment. Even if that place is only inside our minds.

Oh, that darn door. Only if it opened upon some other reality
