Blue Shadow

a poem

You parked your new car

in the shadow of the older model

without realizing

that we were both similar

but just of different sexes.

Walking through the car park,

I saw various drivers and passengers

searching for different things.

You tried to influence me,

but I always knew what I wanted.

So, your attempts have failed.

They were not appropriate

for my age, position and talents.

Perhaps your other women

may fall

for your charms,

but not someone like me -

free-spirited like a bird.

I leave a mark wherever I go -

a destiny written in words.
