You hold me high
Whispering quietly in my ears
How could I forget how much
I needed you
Covered and uncovered
Yet I feel so safe
Softly rocking me
Like a child to sleep
I look upwards and the sky beams
Warm fingers reach to caress my face
I hear my heart beat
It becomes a slow drumming
Arms reach for balance
Moving gently by my side
Toes lazy paddle
No effort required
I can be whoever I need to be
Out here
Or no one at all
I drift a little further
The sea beckons with her stories
Can I stay a little longer?
