Bleed the Beast
A Poem
Bleed the beast they say
But how do I bleed it
When it feeds me
When it needs me
As much as I need it
I want to cleave it off
But to do so
Would be cutting my own arm
One cannot harm another
Without harming themselves
Scarce pantry shelves
The streets are where they want us to dwell
While they rape the wealth we make
They have forsaken us to die
For their lie of separation
For another dollar
They will destroy a nation

This is a very well written and impactful poem. Congrats on the top story!
The wisdom seemingly lost in each & every generation. There always seems to be a core who care only for themselves who will sacrifice anyone & anything for the sake of wealth & will sacrifice even greater wealth for the sake of power. But will they realize the necessity of sacrificing power when the world turns against them & it becomes a matter of survival? The ubiquity of radicalized media willing & anxious to spin narratives with lies to their supposed advantage seem to have given the oligarchs above us the false(?) sense of security that they can scapegoat others & keep us pointing our pitchforks away from them, forever failing to recognize the true source of our woes. Are they correct & are we truly headed toward a dystopian future ruled by a carefully proscribed ignorance of what is real? Only time will tell.
"One cannot harm another, Without harming themselves" This is so very true, Eric <3 So very true

I love how you reflect on the painful realization that severing ties with the “beast” would harm them just as much as it harms society. This internal conflict is tied to a world where the wealthy profit at the expense of the marginalized, leading to a critique of greed and division. Masterpiece.
They’ll destroy everything! Nation and all! Fantastic poem! Amazing
