Black Woman

Here I stand

With nothing in my hand

Posing for the world to see

Powerful and strong

for a lifetime long

A Nurturer. Meant to be.

I hold my head high

Still with tears in my eyes

You don’t know what it’s like to be me

To you im a weapon

wanna send me to Heaven

Wherever I’m meant to be.

My heart is my shield

And I try to heal

The ones who are in a bad place.

I wear the jewelry of beauty

So you can get used to me

For I’ll be here all of the days

Until I lay

for eternal life

I will care for you with my ways

My family. my friends

Don’t you understand?

I’m a black woman and that intimidates your race.
