Black Out

Blessings for Robert's Baby

By Nneka CallwoodPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Way atop the mountain passage;

lays an ocean that's disguised.

Careful cousin, you might miss it.

It's hard to see with just your eyes.

~

Travelers often stop to wonder,

from where the ocean's waters flow.

Don't get to close, it'll pull you under;

and once it has you, won't let you go.

~

Travel further up the mountain.

There you'll find just what you seek.

Not an ocean, but a fountain.

Whom by comparison may seem meek.

~

The water here is safe to bathe,

safe to swim, and safe to drink.

Its deep enough for you to wade,

but not so deep that you might sink.

~

While you're wading they will come,

the ones you set up the mountain for.

They will not ask where you're from,

only if you're willing to travel some more.

~

You may answer with a smile,

it tugs at your cheeks and lights up your eyes.

Limitless and unbound,

and now forever immortalized.
