Even after a bad relationship ends, you are allowed to feel upset. You are allowed to mourn.

---

What would you do if the moon fell out of the sky?

If the night turned black and the stars went dry?

That’s kind of what it was like when you said goodbye.

Take care, sweetie, I’ll talk to you soon

That’s what you said to me on the phone

But that was over two months ago

And I’m still waiting to see the moon

Now I see what you meant when you said I’d hate you

Was anything you told me even true?

But hey, I guess in a way, I always knew

Take care, sweetie, I’ll talk to you soon

That’s what you said to me on the phone

But that was over two months ago

Y’know I’m still hoping to see the moon
