Black Magic

A gay man becoming!

By William SturdivantPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Black Magic

I am cocoa bean and vanilla powder. Milk-Chocolate magic aluminum and steel can not contain.

I am Spirit

once tamed

now set free

caterpillar bonds

busted by butterfly wings!

I am Imagination

like a diamond studded dandelion When the wind whispers my name

it refracts and shines bright

right into the drums that keep space and time your ears can not evade my voice!

I am energy. Repeated. Recycled. Reimagined. Reborn!

I am melanin-rising

made tall by the backs of ancestors flanked by a murder of feathers given wings by imprisoned ascendancy!

I am the barefoot horseback rider charged to proclaim

“The revolution is not coming The revolution is here.”

Upon the soles of prophets before me I stand and proclaim

“Black lives matter”

and a ladder of actions

build more

than words.
