Black

I am black

The color that struck fear in your eyes and hate in your heart

I am black so for that I must lack a heart

I am black my sin is my skin, and my blood will be spilled because of that

I am black there is nothing I can do about that

I am black you want me to crumble and fall

I am black but I get on one knee and stand for all

I am black

Like a bird that has wings but forgot how to fly

I am black no matter how hard they try we will never fall and die

I am black United we stand divided we fall

I am black I’m not just fighting for one I’m fighting for all

I am black my heart is beating but bearly alive

I am black no matter how hard things get we always thrived

I am black but not like the darkness that resides in you

I am the black they fear tongue like Malcolm

Took us from our home then told us to go home

I dream like Martin of a welcome that will never come

I lead like Harriet but don’t call me a Patriot

My freedom so heavy only I can carry it.

Fight like toussaint in the middle of the night

With just one sight We will never lose this fight

I Am Black!
