Note: this is for Paul Stewart's compilation of poetry from Vocalists.

Can I keep it to fifty words?

Hmm...

*

Born in Canada in a small steel city,

West Indian parents, immigrants too.

Strong interest in literature grew,

I wrote and dreamed up my life quickly.

Lived and travelled (US, England, and Japan

for over three years).

My ambition and endless plans

Brought me right back here.

Now a college instructor and writer;

Single and made to be alone.

Please enjoy this, dear reader

And the others in this tome!

I dropped the ball on my project, but picked it up again now and putting together an update - just checking who has sent a bio and who hasn't. And this was genius. Thank you, sir!

I enjoyed the snapshot of your life Kendall. It is good to see the photo behind the writer sometimes. Born in Canada and now an instructor and writer. Thank you for sharing your journey. I like to give some detail, so let you know I indeed read your poem.

single and made to be alone...this hits right in the heart

  • Even if I didn't learn that you were a college instructor, the use of the word "tome" was a dead giveaway. LOL! It's no wonder you picked up my heavy Sylvia Plath vibes 😉

  • So nice to learn more about you and your journey 😊
