Bindweed In September Seed
My drawings of this beauty included. Follow me into the study of its leaves and its deceptive face of hues⦠many point of views⦠come along, friend!

In the rain I saw you standing
Your beauty protruding
Balancing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sacrificial friends
Small arrowhead
Enticing
π
Without a heart
Below your curved lines
Raindrops
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like clear dots
On freckled face
Ask for me I
π
Drew thee mistaken
Failing to forget
Curved lines
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The way you were true
As were my blinking eyes
I came for you
π
Under a wink
I craved anew
Bindweed
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whisper sweet things
Until I held hands with stress
You zen
π
Now I feel zest
I see you
Giver of all
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peace and serenity I
Donβt look to you
It's true
π
For I mourn the colour hue
Of morning beauty instead of you
And you die like the season
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ππ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snip and dry your fall
Bindweed
Wither away like you never were
π
Pervasive
Exact your leaf in graphite dust
Thatβs all I ask for
π
True beauty

A/N: This poem went through a lot of editing but along the way I learnt that this flower is not morning glory. I followed a drawing video on YouTube, but the leaf in my drawing is wrong. It should be arrow shaped as this plant is bindweed. Thank you so much for reading if you got this far. Need more information to tell the difference? Click this link. The sketches are really good and matches the words perfectly for me. Good job,
It is a lovely poem but I am more fascinated by your interpretation of the picture in your sketches. You broke down the elements of the flower into the pieces of its special qualities which is a testament to your keen eye. And your explanation of the whole process carries us along with you so well. I enjoyed this time spent with you π
A beautiful poem and great sketches, Caitlin! There's so much beauty in this world, and I'm glad you can see it with your keen eye.
I love this. Even the note about the leaf shape adds to the sense of discovery.
Whatever glory it is, we get the lovely morning dew of a flower awaking, and drawing does not have to be perfect, just heartfelt. Well done CC.
That flower looks like a hybrid of morning glory and hibiscus. You captured it's beauty perfectly and your drawing is soooo nice! Loved your poem as well!
