From Night to Day

You were in my life

For everyday

that we worked alongside

everybody who came

some days it wouldn't make sense

I'd try my very best

But for you, I am proud of the fact that I did stay

I love and care about?

If I denied the name "J.E."

I'd be denying a huge part of me

A part of me that I would feel incomplete without,

I first started working there

from a manager

I laughed and smiled

In disbelief, I asked

"Really?", that's when I knew

I did the impossible with you

See, our relationship

Started off very yucky

Something we can both agree

But that didn’t mean I wasn’t gonna try

make things work between you and me

We then grew closer

And you

Were the first person to

Ever tell me,

"I'm not gonna give up on you"

That's when it hit me,

You genuinely do care

About me

And the way you looked me dead in the eye

As I heard you say those words

I was close to having tears in my eyes

But you’ve already seen me cry too many times

Still through our ups, downs

And misunderstandings

We talked things out

And opened up to each other

Becoming the only person we had

I never gave up on us

I wanted to be more

Than just your cigarette break

Soon after, I was

Damn look at us now,

I never wanted to let you down

I always wanted to make you proud

And every time, You said "I"

I would say "we"

Cause "WE" are a team

Not just in the workplace

But in this Life too

Maybe even in the next Life

We'll see, but won't know

Until we get that far

I know I taught you some things

When I came into your life

Taught you more than you wanted to

Without asking for it, you taught me more

Than I thought I would learn

in a short amount of time

I honestly never thought

I could become so close

With someone, especially you

And at the end of the day

I have no regrets for knowing you

And pouring my heart out

And shedding tears in front of you

I am glad you exist,

I am thankful to have you in my Life,
